I grew up in China and went to art school for four years where I learned all the basics about realistic drawing and painting. Now I have settled down in Sydney as a coloured pencil portrait artist. I am also a full-time early childhood teacher. Working with young children inspired me to paint children's portrait. I have always been fascinated by faces since I was a child. Every face tells a story and the youngest ones are telling stories that have just begun. Painting a child feels like painting for the future. Coloured pencil is my favourite medium and I work in photorealism. I also taught myself to paint animals with pastel which I would love to further explore. I hope to continue to develop my artistic skills and create many more interesting and authentic portraits.
